Proper Pops - Review!

We were recently sent some Proper Pops to try out. I've never heard of Proper Pops before so thought why not lets give them a go.

Proper Pops are not made from potato and are Gluten and Lactose free and low in fat and sugar, as well as being low in Calories, They are Vegetarian, 100% natural and crammed with Calcium and have a slow releasing protein derived from milk to help you to keep going throughout the day. These savoury treats are popped, not fried, and packed with protein and fibre.

I was really surprised how many you get in a pot for how low in calories they happen to be. They are packed full of flavour as well. We tried the Lime, Lemongrass and Garlic flavour and the Lemon and Chilli flavour, I have to say the Lime and Chilli flavour was my favourite, the Chilli was pretty fiery which I liked. I wasn't so keen on the Lemongrass in the other pot.

I think they are a great alternative to crisps, as the flavours are a little unusual Bethany didn't like them, so not sure they would be a great alternative to crisps for little ones, but definitely a great alternative for adults.

I love the little facts on the front of the pots telling you how many times better they are for you than other foods like beans, kale and broccoli.

Proper Pops keep you fuller for longer.

Available to buy at Sainsbury's, or why not check out their website.

Do You Prepare For Christmas Early?!

Every year I start buying bits for Christmas from September, but im starting to feel like im the only one who does now-a-days! When speaking to all the Mum's in the playground at school they all seem to leave it late to buy presents.

In our family Christmas has always been a massive family gathering and we immensely enjoy it, seeing the kids playing with their gifts, enjoying the sweets and chocolates, a big Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, even though I am a little older now and have a child of my own I still get super excited Christmas Eve, Am I the only one?!

Some of us in our Christmas Jumpers last year!

So I thought I would share with you a few things I have already picked up for Christmas this year.

Bethany is Horse mad so a lot of her toys this year are based around Pony's and Horses!

This lego Juniors Pony Farm will give her hours of fun im sure.

When we were younger we had a tamagotchi and this seems to be a bigger version, super fun for little ones, Vtech KidiPet Friends Pony.

Playmobil Country Horse Care Station looks good fun, we had Playmobil as kids too.

Those are only a few of the things I have bought so far for Christmas. I find buying bits now can sometimes be cheaper too as you find that some companies put the prices of items up nearer to Christmas! I've also purchased our big box of chocolates already as they are currently on offer ,but they definitely wont be nearer to the festive season.

I have made a start on making my Christmas Card this year (I do this every year), this years theme is a Blue theme for the family cards, keep your eyes open for my Christmas Card post which will be coming in the next few weeks, but in the mean time here's a sneak preview.

Do you shop early for Christmas? And what is your favourite part of the Festive season?

Itty Bitty's From Hallmark - Review & Giveaway!

We were recently sent a fantastic set of Itty Bitty's from Hallmark.

Itty Bitty's are a new range of high quality collectable plush toys with a beanie bottom.

We received Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Rudolph and Santa.

The Itty Bitty's range was a massive success in the US and Australia and is now available here in the UK.

I think these little guys are great, they not only appeal to Children but also Comic Book and Superhero fans.

The first ranges available here in the UK are Superheroes, Snoopy and Charlie Brown, The Wizard of Oz and Scooby Doo.

Bethany was super excited when she received these in the post, her favourite character is Wonder Woman. She had fun flying them around the room, and they all had pretend fights and were saving the day!

I love Superman, he has his own little cape on the back, and his logo on his t-shirt I think they are such a lovely little size too at 4 inches. Batman also wears a cape with his logo on the front. Batman is the top selling Itty Bitty in the US and he is the first character available in the UK.

Were looking forward to collecting more.

I have to say though I also love these festive little guys as well!

Without a doubt these have to be the best stocking fillers I have come across this year so far.

Itty Bitty's are available from the Hallmark website.

How to avoid over-spending at Christmas!

I know its only September but the big "C" word will soon creep up on us..... I wanted to share some tips on avoiding over-spending at Christmas from Busy Bees benefits.

I know times can be difficult and everyone likes to try and save a little money, especially at the most expensive time of year.

1. Gift cards make great presents. We’ve all been there – you need to purchase a gift for a friend and up until now, you thought you knew them quite well. However, now that Christmas is here, you feel like you don’t know them at all as you’re completely lost as to what gift they’d truly love to unwrap.

In this situation it’s incredibly easy to overspend. If you have no idea what you’re looking for, you might be more inclined to purchase a variety of things or something outside of your usual budget to compensate for your guilt of not knowing what to buy. If you have no idea what you’re looking for then opt for a gift card. Gift cards can often be purchased up to 10% cheaper than the card’s actual value*, meaning savings can be made and your friendships can remain intact.

2. Make sure you get cashback whenever you can,
Let’s face it – Christmas is always one of the most expensive times of the year. You’re likely to make a variety of purchases in a variety of places. On reading that you might hear the cries of fear from your wallet, but you need not worry as spending in a variety of places is great for building up cashback funds.

If you know you’ll be ordering gifts online this festive season, make sure you have a cashback account set up so you can feel a sense of accomplishment when reaching the end of your Christmas shop. You can make a significant amount in cashback over the Christmas period – and what better way to build up funds for the January sales!

3. Always look for discount codes - This may be the most obvious tip in our guide, but the savings here are often vast. If your employer isn’t a provider of a retail discount scheme, make sure you’re scouring the net for discount codes. Whether shopping online or on the high street, discount codes can allow for brilliant savings.

4. Purchase a discount card for your grocery shop - When the time comes to collect your turkey from the supermarket, there’s no question that your trolley will also be filled with a variety of other Christmas goodies. From the Christmas pudding to the Boxing Day treats, your grocery shop is likely to be more expensive than usual. Plan ahead for your grocery costs by purchasing a discount card for your local supermarket. As mentioned above, these cards can be purchased at up to 10% cheaper than the cards value. This means that if you plan to spend £100 on your food shop, it could actually cost you as little as £90.

5. Heading to the panto? Over Christmas, you may look for ways to keep the kids occupied. Many of us head to the panto to see our favourite shows. If you enjoy spending family time at the theatre over Christmas, make sure you purchase your tickets early. Not only will you have access to early bird ticket prices, but some ticket providers offer discount codes that can be used in conjunction with these tickets. Current outlets on the Busy Bees Benefits scheme include TicketMaster, Encore Tickets and Online Ticket Store.

And there you have it, the top five ways to save money this Christmas. If you’ve had enough of rummaging through pages of the internet for discount codes or would like to purchase gift cards at a lower rate, ask your employer about retail discount schemes.

•    The Busy Bees Benefits scheme is provided as a portal, containing a variety of cashback offers, deals and discount cards, which help to cover expenses over the Christmas period.
•    *Discounts on gift cards vary. Current examples on the Busy Bees Benefits Retail Discounts scheme include 7% off Love2Shop vouchers, 4% off Sainsbury’s gift cards and 6% off Marks & Spencer gift cards.
•    Busy Bees Benefits offers a wide range of employee benefits including; Childcare Vouchers, Mobile Phones, Cycle to Work, Retail Discounts, Employee Assistance Programme, Emergency Childcare, Car Leasing, Car Care, Will Writing, Earn and Learn, Workplace Parking and Employment Law.
